My dears, here’s another excellent start of the week (We all love Mondays, don’t we?).
Beautiful weather (80% cloudy and fear of rain), birds singing (roadworks outside the window), everyone at home getting up excited about the start of the day (they love Mondays too, don’t they?), coffee brewing (drunk in a hurry because I got up too late!). Nothing to do but shout for joy: I love Mondays! (Right?). Now I’m trying to unwind my rushed make-up, sore back, and burnt lips from my morning coffee. I don’t want to come off as grumpy (no, not at all…) like some other Mondays.
Here are my lifebuoys for today.

“Have you ever wondered how normal you are? What if you were perfectly average? More than anyone else.
For Emily – it’s true. When she watches a documentary on the average human she sees her life. Her job, her hair, her favourite food. All of her- plainly, horrifically average. Even her blood group.
Right there and then, she decides she wants more.
She’ll travel the world
(i.e. venture out of her hometown)
She’ll become a vegan
(It’s interesting to hate cheese, right?)
She’ll do something doring
(As long as it’s safety tested)
Nothing will stand in the way of Emily living her best life. Not even Josh and his dimples.
Because she absolutely can’t fall in love…
that would be far too ordinary.
And from now on, Emily is going to be extraordinary.”

“If you dream something hard enough,
it might just come true .. .
Moybell Porrish lives with her head in the clouds, which is the sensible choice because her fantasy life is wonderful: she runs a cosy coffee shop, surrounded by friends and the man of her dreams. Her real life, meanwhile, is full of painful disappointments. So, when Maybell inherits stately old manor from her Great Aunt Violet, it’s her chance to change everything… Yet when she arrives, the house is falling apart around her, and Violet has left a list of demands as eccentric as she was. Worst of all, Maybell isn’t the only inheritor: she has to share everything with Wesley Koehler, the groundskeeper who’s as grouchy as he is gorgeous – and who has plans of his own for their shared manor.
At first, Wesley seems determined to avoid speaking
to Maybell completely, but soon she begins to suspect
that Wesley’s scowls hide a shy, kind nature that has
also found the real world a difficult place. Could it be
that Wesley and Maybell are better matched than even Maybell could ever have dreamed?”

“Lizzy Chung has her life mapped out:
Become a lawyer. ✔️
Join a prestigious law firm. ✔️
Make partner. IN PR0GRESS.
If all goes to plan, she’ll be checking off that last box in a couple of years, making her parents proud and living a successful, fulfilled life in LA. One thing that isn’t part of her plan? Passing out from a panic attack during a pivotal moment in her career.
Lizzy decides that what she needs is a place to recharge and where better than the small California town where she spent her childhood summers with her best friend, Jack Park. Now that Lizzie is back, Jack has three weeks to spend with
the girl of his dreams – while concealing his decades-long crush on her. Something that becomes increasingly difficult when he agrees to help Lizzie revamp the local bookstore. Ronance amongst the dusty shelves and books may
not be in Lizzy’s plan, but could this new page lead
her to the love story she never expected?”

“Life, as any chancer knows, is 10% planning, 10% design, and 80% tetally winging it…
So join Emma Geerge as she quides you through…
How NOT TO …become accidentally knocked up at the age of 27…
How NOT TO …unceremoniously dump the father of your child…
And then How NOT TO lose the job that (even though you hate it) is the only thing between you and being homeless…
Along the way discover that…
Even though your mother is perpetually vexed by your life choices, she loves you really… Having a Doberman-owning, handicam-wielding, felony-obsessed octogenarian as a neighbour is not as awful as it sounds… Sometimes, just sometimes, your bossy younger sister might actually be right…
Hilarious and heart- warming, How Not to Fall in Love Actually will make you laugh, make you cry, and will reassure you that perhaps your life is not that bad, actually…”

“Their friends think they’re crazy, but it’s the perfect
solution: Leon occupies the one-bed flat while Tiffy’s at work in the day, and she has the run of the place the rest of the time. But with obsessive ex-boyfriends, wrongly imprisoned brothers, and, of course, the fact that they still haven’t met yet, it seems this flatshare is more complicated than expected…”

“When Robert Kemble stumbles across Victoría Lyndon in a hedgerow maze, he can’t believe his eyes. The girl who’d torn him in two, who let him plan an elopement and then lef him standing by the side of the road, was suddenly within arm’s
reach, and even though his fury still knew no bounds, she was impossible to resist. Victoria’s father had told her an earl would never marry a vicar’s daughter, and he was right. Robert had promised her
marriage, then danced off to London while she suffered the shame of a foiled elopement. But even though Victoria doesn’t particularly enjoy her new life as a governess, when Robert offers her a job of a different sort – his mistress – she refuses, unable to sacrifice her honour, even for him.
Robert vows to make her his, but can these star-crossed lovers learn to trust again? And is love really sweeter the second time rounde?”
“The first book in an irresistible duet by the
globally bestselling author of the Bridgerton
series. If you loved the Bridgerton novels,
you’ll adore the Lyndon Sisters…”

“YOU’RE A NOUGHT AND I’M A CROSS AND THERE’S
NOWHERE FOR US TO BE, NOWHERE FOR US TO GO WHERE WE’D BE LEFT IN PEACE
THAT’S WHY I STARTED CIYING. FOR ALL THE THINGS WE’RE NEVER GOING TO HAVE.”
“Sephy Hadley and Callum McGregor have been friends since childhood, and they both know that’s as far as it can go. Theirs is a world full of racism, fear and mounting violence – where Noughts and Crosses are fated to be enemies. Then, against all the odds, these star-crossed lovers choose each other.
But this is a love story that will lead them both into terrible danger…”
Yours L.
