I can believe in anything, provided that it is quite incredible.
Oscar Wilde

It’s a little late, but why not?
2024 was a roller coaster. Full of extremes and embarrassment, but also reflection. It was a strange year, but not the worst. A tangled one, one might say.
There were ‘Flights’ by the Polish Olga Tokarczuk and the Korean Hwang Boreum with ‘Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop’. There was ‘Breasts and Eggs’ by Mieko Kawakami and the Czech French Milan Kundera with the inimitable ‘The Unbearable Lightness of Being’. It is hard not to mention ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’ by Oscar Wild and the sci-fi anthology of short stories by American authors ‘Dangerous Visions’. I will not fail to add ‘Into the Woods’ by John Yorke not to miss the irreplaceable Stephen King’s ‘On Writing’. In addition, there are ghost stories in ‘The Snow Ghost and Other Tales’ and ‘The dangers of smoking in bed’ by Mariana Enriquez. And many more…
The year went by quickly for which I was looking forward.
Now I am opening a new chapter with faith and conviction. It is time to work. On myself, on my goals, and open myself up to the possibilities, with an open mind, ready for failures; slowly but stubbornly I will take the first step and run until I run out of breath…
Because if not now, when? We all love slogans (don’t we?).
As a Greek philosopher stated, ‘hope dies last’. And since words have power let mine take the second wind.
My motto for 2025 is: “Rise your bum, damn it, or you’ll be stuck”.
